So, I’ve not really missed social media, but I have missed it. I’ve missed seeing what all my lovies have been up to and I’ve missed posting my photos, but not being on social media has allowed me to read much, much more than I already was reading. This year, my goal is 61 books for 61 years and I’m already halfway there! My kindle says I’m on a “winning streak”! Yay me!
The idea of updating this blog is so that I can stay in touch with all of you and maybe you all will stay in touch with me and someone will also send me photos of their travels and their babies and that way communication can continue even without social media. I hope this works. (Crosses fingers). Shout-out to all of you who have stayed in touch via email, texts and actual snail-mail! KISSES!
We were in Washington DC for a couple of months (after-after I was in Nashville and Seattle) and while there we saw A Complete Unknown. Timothée Chalamet IS 19 year old Dylan. He was great. I used to not be a Dylan fan but HLD’s persistence in having me listen to his music has changed that and I now not only recognize his less commercial stuff but I also know the words. Teehee!

The fancy lounging seats at the movies.

Snowed in in DC.
We then flew to Amsterdam where we visited for the second time and we absolutely love it! Having already done the “major” museums, this time we visited The Anne Frank House, we walked The Canal Belt, we visited the Dutch Resistance Museum and we enjoyed “an intimate evening with Jason Isbell” at the Paradiso, where I was shoved aggressively by a very tall, very tough rent-a-cop lady. Walking around Amsterdam is lolo as you have to be on the lookout for a million bikes, the tram, cars and buses! But we do so love it. It’s one of our favorite cities even though in February its is sooooo cold!!! So,so cold!! The Anne Frank house and the Resistance Museums really brought tears to our eyes. I’m impressed that the kids in schools are taught this past history and the country does not try to pretend that this did not happen. It truly is scary how similar to those times certain things are seeming right now. Scary!
So now we’re back in Oloron-Sainte-Marie, still looking to move to San Sebastian/Donostia but enjoying small town life meanwhile. I’ve been doing some studying to keep busy while HLD continues to run 4+ miles almost daily. So far, I’ve gotten my TEFL certification, I’m now a Certified Meditation Instructor and I’ve gotten a Therapeutic Arts Certification. I’ve been doing remote interpretations and that’s fantastic because I can pick and chose my assignments and don’t find them as exhausting as interpreting 5/6 hours daily! Lee’s french is coming along beautifully. I’m not even going to pretend I want to learn it again so I’m moving to Spain. ;-).

They have a sense of humor!

Well, let’s see how this update goes before I post any more photos. If there’s interest, I might make this a weekly thing. In the meantime, please continue to email, text and letter me. xoxoxoxoxox
